Bali, Indonesia - Japan welcomes the agreement between ASEAN and China on the Implementation of the Declaration on the Conduct Guidelines All Parties in the South China Sea (DoC), said Foreign Ministry spokesman Satoru Satoh Japan this weekend.

"We welcome the agreement between ASEAN and China on DoC implementation guide. We hope all parties can fully implement their commitments and hopefully about the Code of Conduct All Parties in the South China Sea (CoC) will soon be formed after this," he said.




However Satoh reminded recent developments in the case of the South China Sea is currently not solve all problems. "DoC's Guide has been agreed, but all have not stopped here. We hope that ASEAN and China continue to communicate to solve problems in the South China Sea to the bitter end," he said.

He hoped the parties involved in the problem of the South China Sea could soon agree on CoC which is considered as an umbrella law that binds.

Perhimpungan Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and China on Wednesday (20 / 7) agreed to Guide Implementation of the Declaration on Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea.

"It's a good start and it is important for us to work together to continue dialogue and cooperation with a view of further entrench stability and confidence in the region," said Assistant Foreign Minister of Vietnam, Pham Quang Vinh.


Assistant Foreign Minister of China, Liu Zhenmin, said officials would give up what they had agreed to ministers for final approval.

"This is an important document about the cooperation between China and ASEAN member countries," Liu said. "And we have a brighter future and we really want the cooperation in the future."

Although still at an early stage, the agreement gave hope for peaceful resolution of overlapping claims in the South China Sea.
